Juniper Networks

Also based in California, Juniper Networks is the youngest of the three companies, having launched in 1996. Success came quickly, however, and by 2001 it had grabbed an impressive 37% share of the market in core routers.

Following the acquisition of Unisphere in 2002 the company stepped into the edge routers market. Juniper’s focus in recent years has been in the development of new software-defined networking (SDN) products.
